SentinelOne is no longer trying to win the endpoint contest on growth alone. The second quarter of fiscal 2027 shows a company forcing mix toward AI security, data, and cloud while harvesting the first real operating leverage of its public life. The quarter ended July 31, 2026. Management raised the full-year revenue and operating-income outlook after beating both lines. The investment debate is whether that leverage is a durable platform story or a restructuring-assisted print that still sits on slowing net-new bookings.
The tension lives in bookings quality rather than the headline growth rate. Annualized recurring revenue, the run-rate of subscription and usage contracts, reached $1,218 million. That is a twenty-two percent advance, yet net-new ARR of $56 million rose only four percent. Remaining performance obligations, contracted revenue not yet recognized, jumped forty-five percent to $1.7 billion as larger multi-year enterprise deals replaced logo velocity. Customers above the $100,000 ARR threshold grew thirteen percent to 1,715 names. Flex, the consumption commercial model launched a year earlier, already exceeds ten percent of ARR. Non-GAAP operating margin hit ten percent against two percent a year earlier, while GAAP still lost money after stock-based compensation of $92 million.
Cash and investments of $813 million and a debt-free balance sheet give the company room to fund the Israeli Tax Authority installment schedule without rewriting the operating model. The next several quarters resolve whether Prompt Security, Purple AI, and the broader AI-security stack can keep net-new ARR growing as the May workforce reset annualizes and second-half comparisons get harder. If emerging products carry the mix, a mid-single-digit sales multiple can expand. If net-new ARR stalls in the low single digits while GAAP losses persist, the market is already paying for a completed profitability pivot that has not yet proven it can reaccelerate.
