TickerFile Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

TickerFile (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a US-based service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: the email address and authentication data handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). We never have direct access to your password.
  • Session data: a session identifier stored in a browser cookie, used to keep you signed in.
  • Advertising data:we use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This may include personalized/interest-based advertising. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
  • Analytics data: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use TickerFile (pages viewed, session duration, general location, device/browser type). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data, which is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy practices. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How we use your information

We use account information to operate your account (authentication, session management, your watchlist) and to communicate with you about your account if needed. We use advertising data to display and, where applicable, personalize ads through Google AdSense. We use analytics data to understand and improve site usage. Some reports and content on TickerFile may be generated with the assistance of automated tools. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Public research pages and search indexing

Public report pages are intended to be discoverable through search engines. We may expose report titles, metadata, and the Quick Take summary for indexing and snippet generation, while applying crawler controls intended to limit snippet reuse of the rest of a report where supported by the search engine. Those controls are not universal, and we cannot guarantee how every search engine, AI search product, or downstream crawler will store, summarize, or display public pages once accessed.

Cookies

We use cookies for three purposes: (1) keeping you signed in, (2) serving ads through Google AdSense, and (3) understanding site usage through Google Analytics. Both AdSense and Analytics may set their own cookies as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect site functionality, ad relevance, or our ability to measure site usage.

Where data is stored

Account data is handled by Clerk. The site and its database run on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare acts as our infrastructure provider and processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy practices. Advertising and analytics data are collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.

Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion through the settings page when signed in. We may retain limited records as required by law, for fraud prevention, security, or to enforce our agreements.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. You can also update your account email address and manage account deletion through your authenticated settings flow. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising purposes where applicable (e.g., California residents under the CCPA/CPRA — note we do not sell personal information, but ad personalization may be considered “sharing” under this law).

International users

TickerFile is operated in the United States and intended primarily for US users. If you access TickerFile from the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you consent to your information being processed in the United States as described in this policy.

Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies (such as advertising or analytics cookies).

Children's privacy

TickerFile is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “last updated” date above.
