Osisko Gold Group (OGG): Cariboo Construction Decision Tests the Funding Stack

Osisko Gold Group is no longer a permitted developer waiting on a construction call. The board authorized full-scale build of the Cariboo underground mine in central British Columbia in mid-September, shifting the equity from a financing story into an execution story. First gold is scheduled for early 2029, a longer clock than the prior feasibility assumed. The market still prices the name as a cash-rich option rather than a funded builder, which is the gap this report tests.

The funding stack is assembled but not fully drawn. Cash at mid-year sat near C$837 million after the convertible notes closed. Appian confirmed the Lowhee infill and ore-sorting technical tests, removing those hurdles from the remaining project loan. The second draw is still gated on construction-readiness work. Trafigura agreed to a premium equity cheque and a four-year offtake, with a larger gold prepay still unsigned.

Tintic's small-scale sales flipped the quarter to operating profit and proved the Utah camp can throw off cash while Cariboo is built. That is helpful, not the thesis. The question for the next several quarters is whether the remaining Appian draw closes on the published schedule and whether the go-forward capital stays inside the updated envelope. If either slips, the surplus the board advertised starts to look thin.
