The issuer ceased to exist when it merged with and into NBT Bancorp Inc. under an agreement signed in the autumn of the prior year, and its separate corporate life ended on the same day. NBT, as successor by merger, filed a deregistration certification in mid-spring of the current year, terminating the registration of the Evans common stock under the Securities Exchange Act and suspending the reporting obligations that had applied under the prior sections.
