Abits Group has crossed a meaningful threshold in its bitcoin mining trajectory, transitioning from a single-site operator at the Duff facility in Tennessee to a dual-site platform with combined hash power of approximately 760 PH/s as of early 2026. The fiscal year ended December 31, 2025 marked the first full year of meaningful revenue generation at the Memphis site, which came online in late March 2025 and contributed $2.9 million in revenue during its initial nine months of operation. This expansion was financed through the company's first-ever debt facility, a $3.0 million loan at 12% simple interest that funded the procurement of 2,850 Antminer S19XP units for the Memphis deployment. Revenue rose 37% year over year to $9.13 million, while gross profit from operations expanded to $3.68 million at a 40% margin. Yet the bottom line tells a different story: the company recorded a net loss of $2.87 million, driven by $3.52 million in depreciation, $2.55 million in general and administrative expenses, and $474,872 in miner write-offs. The Bitcoin halving in April 2024 reduced mining output to 89.09 BTC from 100.55 BTC in the prior year despite the expanded fleet, underscoring the structural headwind that every miner faces on a four-year cycle.

The investment thesis rests on three variables. First, hash rate scalability: the company has demonstrated an ability to deploy capital efficiently into new mining capacity, with the Memphis site achieving operational status within months of financing. The principal metric is installed hash rate per dollar of capital expenditure, which the company estimates at approximately 760 PH/s across 4,775 miners as of April 2026. The market signal to watch is whether the next expansion phase , likely targeting the remaining 10 MW of available capacity at Memphis , can be funded internally or requires additional debt at reasonable terms. Second, treasury strategy: management increased bitcoin holdings from 2.58 BTC to 15.99 BTC during 2025, retaining roughly 18% of mined output rather than selling immediately. This signals conviction in Bitcoin's long-term appreciation and transforms the balance sheet into a levered Bitcoin bet. The tracking signal is the ratio of retained BTC to total mined BTC each quarter, with a rising ratio indicating increasing conviction. Third, operating cost discipline: the company secured electricity at approximately $0.04 per kWh and reduced water costs by 48% through infrastructure improvements at the Duff site. The compression mechanism to watch is whether these unit economics hold as the fleet ages and the next halving approaches in 2028, when block rewards is expected to drop from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC per block.

The binary market implications are clear. Confirmation of the thesis arrives if the company sustains hash rate growth while maintaining sub-$0.04/kWh power costs and the retained BTC position appreciates materially , a scenario that could support a re-rating toward peer multiples of 1.5-2.0x enterprise value to hash rate. The thesis breaks if power costs escalate, if the next expansion requires equity dilution at depressed prices, or if Bitcoin enters a prolonged bear market that renders the 12% debt service unsustainable relative to mining margins. The August 2026 control transaction, in which CEO Conglin Deng transferred his 47% voting stake to ARC Group International for $5 million cash plus a $3.5 million note, introduces a new governance overlay that could accelerate or constrain capital allocation depending on ARC's strategic orientation.
