AbbVie delivered another quarter of double-digit growth from the post-Humira immunology franchise, and the equity is being repriced on a question the Q2 FY2026 quarterly filing for the period ended June 30, 2026 cannot fully answer on its own: how much of the year-to-date earnings quality comes from the underlying Skyrizi-and-Rinvoq ramp versus how much comes from a steep decline in the contingent-consideration revaluation that depressed last year's comp. Q2 FY2026 net revenues of $16,990M were up 10.2% on a reported basis and 9.5% operationally, the Immunology franchise printed $8,786M up 15.1% reported and 14.6% operationally, and adjusted diluted EPS (the company's preferred non-GAAP measure, which strips out intangible amortization, the mark-to-market of contingent consideration liabilities, and other specified items) of $3.65 was up 22.9% from the $2.97 of Q2 2025. The GAAP-versus-adjusted gap of $1.62 per share is the load-bearing observation of the quarter, because roughly $0.83 of that gap came from the mark-to-market of contingent consideration liabilities (the variable payment owed to the prior owners of acquired businesses, marked to market each quarter based on the probability-weighted outlook for the acquired pipeline), a $1,518M non-cash charge that was actually $1,277M smaller than the $2,795M charge in the year-ago quarter. The other leg of the quarter is the announcement of a definitive agreement to acquire Apogee Therapeutics for $135.11 per share in cash, a total equity value of approximately $10.9B, expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 and to be $0.14 dilutive to 2026 adjusted diluted EPS. The full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance was updated from $13.91-$14.11 to $13.87-$14.07, a $0.04 trim at the midpoint, with management framing the trim as the Apogee dilution net of a $0.10 overperformance offset. The single most important data point the market is now waiting on is whether the Q2 Skyrizi-and-Rinvoq trajectory holds through the Apogee close and the 2027 immunology step-up, or whether the Imbruvica and Mavyret revenue erosion (down 29.4% and 21.2% reported respectively in Q2) accelerates into the back half of the year.
