A couple months ago, TickerFile was just an idea in my head. I had no idea if I would do anything with it or not, but here I am with a live website. My idea for TickerFile came from the fact that over sixty-five percent of all US publicly traded companies have zero analyst coverage. A company without any analyst coverage forces investors to dig through difficult-to-find and often tediously long data sources to research the company and develop their own thesis. So I decided to solve this problem with TickerFile.
I source information directly from the companies that report it and use that information to create research reports. TickerFile takes that primary-source information and turns it into structured research that is easier to understand and actually useful to investors. I already have hundreds of reports covering hundreds of companies, and I am adding more every day.
The Mission
My goal is for TickerFile to produce a research report for every US publicly traded company every quarter. I want to make the kind of information that is normally only accessible to the ultra-wealthy accessible to everyone. For free. Forever. High-quality investment research should not be locked behind a paywall for professionals only.
What's Ahead
In the coming days, weeks, and months, I will be working to move TickerFile beyond just a pure reports-only website. I want TickerFile to become your one-stop shop for all your investing research. That starts with adding monitoring for ETFs and institutions. Sooner rather than later, I'd like to add a weekly newsletter via email, and maybe an RSS feed for each stock.
There are many more plans I have for the future of TickerFile that I cannot talk about right now, and I hope to reveal more to you soon. TickerFile is going to be quite a journey for me, but it's a journey I will share with all of you. Thanks for visiting my site.
